Welcome to our latest product update, bringing key platform improvements designed to give your teams greater flexibility and confidence when using Cortex products. This month, we've focused on enhancing the experience for teams building and managing custom blocks on our CMS, improved the search in our CMS so your queries return better results, and introduced Bulk Suspend in our SSO - making it easier for your system admins to suspend suspicious or inactive accounts.
CMS Enhancements: Introducing Custom Block Versioning
We believe that evolving your content ecosystem shouldn't be hampered by rigid development processes. Previously, making necessary updates to custom content blocks could be restrictive, often forcing teams to work around system limitations.
To streamline your development workflow and eliminate the risk of accidental breakage, we have introduced a robust Versioning System for custom content blocks.
- Simplified Statuses: We have removed the 'Testing' status. Content blocks now have only three statuses: Draft, Published, or Deprecated. All existing 'Testing' blocks have been automatically migrated to 'Published'.
- Full Editability & Safety Net: A Published custom block is no longer locked down. You can now edit any aspect of the block. Crucially, when an edit is saved, a new version is automatically created without affecting existing articles or pages, avoiding a breaking change.
Easier Content Sorting
We've removed a key pain point in managing article display order within the CMS.
- New Reordering Tools: Users can now use simple up and down arrows to adjust the ordering of specific articles within the Related Content block. This feature is also available if you are using a Content ID field within a custom content block.
- User Benefit: This enhancement saves significant time by eliminating the previous need to remove and re-add multiple articles simply to place a new item at the top of the list.
Security & Search Fixes
We have deployed a security fix that affects the search endpoints used for finding articles within the CMS. This release delivers enhanced platform security while also introducing improvements to search accuracy.
- Improved Relevance: The new logic gives greater weight to a user's specific search terms, ensuring more relevant content appears higher in the results.
- Tighter Search Logic: Where a query includes multiple words in parentheses, the default search logic has changed from an OR operator to an AND operator. This means searching for a phrase (e.g., "Take That") will now only return articles that contain both words, providing a more accurate match for complex queries.
SSO: Enhanced Account Management
To give administrators greater control over their fan data and account security, we've introduced new bulk management functionality to the Cortex Single Sign-On solution.
- Bulk Account Operations: Administrators can now efficiently perform bulk suspend or unsuspend fan accounts. This streamlines data management workflows and ensures you have faster administrative oversight of your entire fanbase.
