What's the Latest: October Product Updates

At Cortex, we're constantly working to enhance the platform's power, efficiency, and usability for our customers. This month's updates focus heavily on bulk operations, simplified workflows, and improved consistency across key commercial and content management areas.
Here is a summary of the latest features and improvements released to production in October.
Bulk Operations & Workflow Efficiency
A major focus this month was introducing functionality to handle large volumes of data and assets, significantly reducing manual tasks and saving your team’s valuable time.
Content Creation & Customisation
We've delivered several updates to improve the quality, consistency, and preview experience when building custom content.
Content & Content Blocks (CMS)
Duplicate Block
In Content, content authors can now duplicate any block with a single click. This is particularly useful for complex or custom blocks, saving time and ensuring consistency.
Custom Block Preview
When building a custom content block, you now see two live previews: one showing how the block will look in the Cortex UI, and another showing the expected JSON output. This ensures greater confidence, particularly for web or app developers before publishing.
Polls & Forms
Form Previews in Polls
The poll preview now displays a form if you have included one in the poll's success message. This means customers can see the full user journey before launching.
Clear Form Responses
You can now clear form responses. Removing them ensures they are no longer included in CSV exports or available via the API, allowing you to manage and reset audience data effectively.
Platform Usability & Control
These global updates improve navigation, access, and overall platform consistency.
Cortex Global & Navigation
Media Folder Navigation
When navigating between folders in Media, if you land on a page number with no data, you will automatically be directed back to page 1 to prevent seeing zero results.
Players & Themes
Players UI Consistency
The UI for selecting team and position lists now aligns with the standardised menu experience across other areas of Cortex, offering a more predictable workflow.
Live Blog Theme Preview
The live blog theme preview now includes a 'Show More' function, giving you a better understanding of the theme's appearance before activation.
Events (CMS & Asset Allocator)
New Event Import Capabilities
You can now create events in bulk via a CSV file import. Additionally, Football clients can now import from the Opta Football feed. This dramatically speeds up setup for customers with a high volume of fixtures, eliminating the need for time-consuming individual creation.
Bulk Edit and Delete
Mistakes happen. You can now use multi-select checkboxes in Events to bulk edit details like the home team or venue, or to bulk delete entire events or entities (e.g., teams). This makes managing large event lists simple and fast.
Media & Asset Allocator
Bulk Media Export
You can now multi-select media items and export them in bulk as a single zip file (retaining folder structure). This is available directly in the Media section and via a new Downloads tab.
Asset Allocator Media Export
From an event in Asset Allocator, you can now export all media files included in any allocation. This is essential for customers needing to transfer media to playout software we haven't integrated with yet.
Proof Centre Handling
In the brand-facing Proof Centre (Asset Allocator), we added handling for deleted media, now displaying an empty state rather than an unhelpful error.
Running Order Clarity
The slot duration is now included in the running order table, making it easier for users to understand slot details at a glance.
